Architects
The Network Architect is responsible for the design of overall
network elements. Preventively designing the network, identifying where
the "single points of failure" are and whether or not
"redundancy is needed".
They provide strategic direction for technical planning and budgeting as
well as major infrastructure and development initiatives - Establish
goals and objectives that support company business plans and strategies
- Provide multi - application / infrastructure technology consulting to
senior management - Conduct R&D and make recommendations and
presentations for new technology products and strategic plans to support
long term objectives - Maintain cost-effective relationships with tech
vendors, service providers, and institutions.
Specific areas of network architecture include: Fiber Optics,
Network Systems, Network Protocols, Switched Data/Voice, Network
Security, Network Systems Management and Control, and backbone
architecture.
Engineer III
The Level 3 Engineer troubleshoot network problems using various
management platforms and provides expertise in all network element software and
hardware. The Level 3 Engineer is responsible for resolving
network and Telco problems. Problems will
escalate from from the Level 3 Engineer to the Director of Operations.
Level 3 Engineers posses strong technology analysis experience with
available technologies and recommend solutions with an eye to supporting
new business initiatives, and technology requirements. Objectivity
in dealing with IT vendors and products. Excellent verbal and written
communications skills. Ability to organize and present technical
information in a lucid and convincing manner (both theoretical and
hands-on technical), Experience with effectively organizing and
conducting planning meetings. Organizational skills with the ability to
manage multiple projects simultaneously and Project Management skills.
Engineer II
Level 2 Engineers posses technology analysis experience with
available technologies and recommend solutions with an eye to supporting
new business initiatives, and technology requirements. Objectivity
in dealing with IT vendors and products. Good verbal and written
communications skills. Ability to organize and present technical
information in a lucid and convincing manner (both theoretical and
hands-on technical), Organizational and Project management skills.
Problems will escalate from the Level 2 Engineer to the Level 3
Engineer and Supervisors.
Engineer I
The Level 1 Engineer is responsible for proactive monitoring of the
network on 24/7 basis, opening trouble tickets and maintain updates for
problems, responding to management platform alerts, and troubleshooting
network problems using various management platforms. The Level 1 Engineer interacts with peers, customers, and vendors pertaining to
problems. Problems will escalate from the Level 1
Engineer to the Level 2 Engineer and Supervisors.
